The contest is open to all ages. It will be held at the historic Riverside Park in downtown Lowell on December 1st. Participants can enter as an individual or with a group of friends and family. All participants must register by noon on November 30th.
The City of Lowell will provide the materials needed to decorate your tree: lights, ornaments, Famous Angel Painting and tinsel. You’re welcome to bring your own items as well! Everyone who participates will receive a gift certificate. They are redeemable at a local shop worth $5 if their tree is chosen as a winner!

- This family-run business has been around for over 20 years and offers various gifts for all ages. They have fresh-cut trees, wreaths, handmade items such as ornaments and jewelry and more!
- Where you can park: There is plenty of parking available on-site at Christmas Tree Hill Farm. If you’re coming with your pets, make sure they are on a leash. Also, when visiting farms, animals are everywhere so be respectful when walking through them!
- Admission is free, but if you’d like to bring home some holiday cheer. It’s suggested that you purchase something from their gift shop! Each item ranges from $1-$10, depending on what type. Start shopping early because most items sell out quickly during this time of year. (especially since many locals come here every year).
- Depending upon how long everyone takes, picking out their perfect tree or wreath along with any other gifts they might want while visiting this place (can take up quite a bit of time, especially if everyone wants different types).
After you’ve selected your perfect tree, stay for some lunch at the cafe and get some last-minute shopping done at the gift shop.

Be sure to visit the Lowell Museum to glimpse what life was like in the 1800s. The museum has been housed in the same building since 1895 and is one of the oldest buildings in town still standing today.
